Slot Machine Rules

The slot machine is the simplest casino game to play. However, while this is certainly true, at the same time it is important to remember that playing the slot machine is more complicated than just pulling the handle and watching the reels spin. While that does cover most of it, there are a couple of other things to understand that will make the experience more enjoyable and ensure that you win as much money as you are entitled to when the house edge is taken into account.

Payouts

One of the most important aspects of the slot machine is the payout. In essence, the payout is simply the amount of money relative to your bet that you get when you see a particular combination on the reels. Each slot machine should have on the screen a list of the different combinations that lead to payouts. Make sure that you take a look at this list before you play so that you have a general idea of what to expect.

Jackpots

Another important set of rules surrounding slot machine play is the set of rules that has to do with jackpots. A progressive slot machine is a slot machine where the top prize is replaced by a jackpot that keeps growing the longer that people play without winning it. In essence, this actually means that if the jackpot gets large enough it could eliminate the house edge. Non-progressive slot machines do not have these jackpots, instead providing a maximum prize in the highest slot.

Coins

In addition to payouts and jackpots, coins are also things that you should pay attention to. When you play a particular slot machine, most of the time you are going to have an option of choosing how many coins to play with in a particular spin. The average slot machine might allow you to play with anywhere from 1 to 20 coins, although there are slot machines that let you play for up to 200 coins per spin or more. A coin is simply equal to the value of the slot machine. This means that a $0.25 slot machine weighs in at $0.25 per coin and therefore you need to spend more money to play more coins.

Automation

This is one that is relatively new to the Liberty Slots Casino scene and it is specific to the online slot games. If you plan to use the same number of coins in each spin and not change anything else about the spin before you make it, you can get the slot machine to play automatically for you. Nothing is changed between spins and each spin is taken when the previous one has been resolved. You can set the slot machine to automatically spin a set number of spins or you can instruct it to continue until all of the credit you have is gone. Either way, automation allows you to sit back with a drink and watch the results of your strategy unfold in front of you.
